“It’s business as usual as the House Democrats continue to pile on the debt to pay the pensions without any way to pay it back. I voted against Senate Bill 3514 because it borrows $3.6 billion dollars for the pension payment this year. The state cannot continue to operate this way. While the Democrats in the House have “wailed” about the lack of cash flow and depleted assets, the administration with the acquiescence of the House Democrats is going to cut a check to the AFSCME state workers for $330 million in pay raises. The majority has abdicated the responsibility to every adult and child in this state. There are no more credit cards left to blowout and now the Democrats are reaching into the financial pockets of our grandchildren. This is a disgrace.”

State Representative of the 82nd District Jim Durkin
