“The Cook County sales tax repeal needs to go into effect on January 1, 2011 otherwise the legislation was nothing other than a political cover. Democratic Cook County Board President candidate Toni Preckwinkle’s decision to postpone the sales tax repeal until 2012 at the earliest is unacceptable.
We cannot keep expecting overburdened taxpayers to continue to pay for wasteful, inflated budgets. A series of commonsense cuts need to be made and the sales tax needs to be repealed on January 1, 2011 as taxpayers were promised.”

State Representative of the 82nd District Jim Durkin
